Tom Zeleny, NHA, President and Founder:

In addition to having been an administrator for over 15 years, Tom is also an expert consultant for a state Board of Nursing Home Administrators. He has worked for prestigious national and privately-owned providers in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors as Administrator and Executive Director. This hands-on experience has helped him consistently place candidates in senior living positions throughout the United States since 2003. Tom received his Certificate of Gerontology from Colorado State University.  He has also been certified by the American College of Nursing Home Administrators (ACHCA).  Tom maintains an active Administrator’s license, and continues to keep abreast of the constant regulatory changes that affect senior living clients and candidates.

Martin Graduated from Liverpool Hope University in the UK with a degree in Business and Marketing. He went on to travel extensively over the next several years, learning the cultures and beliefs of various countries. Previous to permanently relocating to Colorado, Martin has worked in the recruiting industry for 2 years, specifically within the Nursing industry. During that time as an Account Manager, Martin successfully managed the recruiting needs of over 400 Nursing homes in Ireland. Martin’s clinical recruiting background has given him vast experience and insight that allows him to confidently find your next perfect career move.

Allison made Colorado her home when she moved from South Carolina in 2007. She earned her Master of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her education has allowed for tremendous opportunities to travel to Africa and throughout Europe. She has worked in the physical therapy department in a number of skilled nursing facilities throughout the Denver metro area. Allison’s clinical background provides a unique perspective when speaking with clients and candidates. Her organizational skills and outgoing personality have contributed to her success in senior housing.

Terri Zimmerman, Executive Recruiter:

Born and raised in Texas, Terri made Colorado her home in 1996, after falling in love with the Rocky Mountains. Prior to then, she served as a volunteer park ranger at Canyonlands National Park. Upon relocating to Colorado, she earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Organizational Management with emphasis in Human Resources; and a Master’s degree in Education from Colorado Christian University.

Utilizing her broad educational background, Terri found fulfillment in serving seniors as an Executive Director of an Assisted Living community in Colorado. While there, she sharpened her skills in operational management, and became well-versed in senior living regulations.

Terri also has extensive experience in coaching and counseling, both individuals and teams to set and achieve goals. Her knowledge extends from the senior living sector to large call centers as well as helping individuals set their own personal health goals. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping and facilitating a wide variety of in-person common interest groups.

Jim Byrne has an extensive background as a Human Resources Generalist. He has occupied key senior HR positions in financial services, banking, government and healthcare (long term and acute care) . As a recruiter, Jim has conducted successful professional searches for all levels; from entry-level to C-level senior management.

Jim has lived on the East Coast, Midwest and now the Mountain States. As a result, he has established a substantial network of resources he brings to executive search activities around the country. He has a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park and is enrolled in the Master’s program in Organization Improvement at Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Annell has forty years of experience in the healthcare industry.  She began as an admissions director for a hospital, and grew to become an owner of a corporation that developed customer service and supervisory training programs for over 400 hospitals.   Annell’s long-term-care experience includes serving as Director, Regional Director, and Area Director of skilled nursing centers, assisted and independent living communities. She also was the Director of Provider Network and Sales for United Health Care’s Evercare program.  Throughout her endeavors, Annell discovered that she had a talent for recruiting great people and helping them realize their career goals.

She appreciates being associated with Aspen Associate Group because of its dedication to matching skill sets and culture sets between employees and employers and the resulting successes that ensue.  Annell attended the University of Kentucky.  Most of her career has been in Colorado.  She has been involved as an officer, or on the board of numerous organizations that serve seniors – including White House Conference on Aging.  She was a recent recipient of the Colorado Gerontology Society’s Al Berger Distinguished Service in Aging Award.
